For The Ages

Two Small Marinas on the Island

What could be more cool than an abandoned ferry on an island? Not much.

There are fresh water lakes on the island, too. My older son has committed to helping me explore them for legendary lake monsters. Our goal is to capture photographic evidence. Stay tuned, devoted blog followers!

You Can't Make This Stuff Up

Breakfast in the hotel. I meet members of the Jeddah Chapter of the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G). They are, of course, from Saudi Arabia and have flown to Seattle, rented Harleys, and are headed to Sturgis. They are all decked out in their Harley apparel with embroidered logos of the Jeddah Chapter. Very nice look. Very nice people. A quick web search and there they are, with their own website and pictures of...the very folks  met...in Saudi Arabia. Devoted readers of this blog will note the Family Ramblemobile in the pictures below, next to the rented Harleys with Saudi Arabian drivers. The Ramble Adventure continues.

Full Moon Over Spokane

From Sheridan, Wyoming to Spokane, Washington and a dry, warm summer evening. Currently sitting on the patio of the Holiday Inn Express "On the Rocks" overlooking downtown Spokane, which has a park on an island in the middle of the river. Never knew Spokane was such a nice little city.

Wedding Ramble Awestwardwise Day Two: Sheridan, Wyoming

From the farmland of eastern South Dakota to the plains of western South Dakota, and a stop at Wall to visit the famous Drugstore with...free ice water...yes, really...past Rapid City with Reptile Gardens where I saw a man get bitten by an alligator when I was seven years old and past the hundreds and maybe thousands of motorcycles heading to Sturgis to the beautiful mountains of Wyoming and, best of all, into the WONDERFULLY crisp, cool weather of Sheridan, right near the Montana line.

That's really about it, I guess.

Lunch at Wall Drug with crowd enjoying the free ice water.
